WORK AUTHORIZATION WITH OLD FINGERPRINTS
On March 30, 2020, USCIS announced that despite field offices being closed due COVID-19, they will continue processing Work Authorization extension requests without new fingerprints being done (biometrics). They will reuse your previously submitted fingerprints.
If you had an appointment scheduled with a USCIS office to get your fingerprinting (biometrics) done on or after the March 18 closure, or have filed an I-765 extension, your application will be processed using previously submitted biometrics. This will remain in effect until USCIS’s offices are open to the public again.
