New I-94 Arrival Departure Process!!

 In How To..., International Travel

Starting April 30, 2013 foreign visitors arriving in the United States by air or sea will not be issued a paper arrival departure record. You will no longer have to fill out a paper Form I-94 upon entry. US Customs and Border Protection will gather travelers’ arrival/departure information automatically from their electronic travel records. With this new process employers, schools/universities or government agencies will be able to access your arrival/departure information online. Now when you leave the United States you will not have to do anything. There will be no paper I-94 to turn in when you leave. This sounds great! Let’s hope that the system doesn’t have too many bugs…because sometimes the old way is better than the new ways. This will definitely cut down on people losing the card or forgetting to turn it in before they leave causing suspect overstay issues. Exciting and a move in the right direction!
