The Department of Justice announced that applicants of Employment Authorization Documents (Form I-765) or Lawful Permanent Resident Status (Form I-485) can now request a new or replacement Social Security card by simply marking it off on the forms for USCIS. Non-US citizens can request a social security card through this process instead of having to visit their local social security administration office. Social security cards will only be delivered after the non-US citizens have been approved and received either their Employment Authorization card or Permanent Resident card.
